RIGHTS? WHERE DO THEY COME FROM? WHO GAVE THEM TO AMERICANS?

There are many things that make America a great nation. One that stands out is the fact that our founding fathers realized where our rights come from and stated it in the Declaration of Independence. Nine out of ten people that I ask the simple question 'Where do our rights come from?' Don't have a clue. When I tell them that they come from God they almost always say "Oh, okay, I knew that."  I recently had a guy answer my question with a question, he asked, "You mean our God given rights?"  He answered my question correctly with his question but still he probably didn't have a clue.  Their answers or  their  failure to answer indicates that they seldom give God a second thought. The first two sentenses in the Second paragraph of The Declaration of Independence reads: "We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.--That to secure these rights, Governments are instituted among Men, deriving their just powers from the consent of the governed, --That whenever any Form of Government becomes destructive of these ends, it is the Right of the People to alter or to abolish it, and to institute new Government, laying its foundation on such principles and organizing its powers in such form, as to them shall seem most likely to effect their Safety and Happiness."
